The nearly 250-year-old San Francisco de Asis Mission Church is a stark yet stunning adobe structure with an impressive list of appearances in famous artwork by the likes of Georgia O’Keefe and Ansel Adams. Afterwards, drive a short 4 miles to stop by the Taos Plaza, an intimate, downtown area with a heart and soul all its own that hosts locals and visitors of all ages, interests and walks of life. Home to many local shops, galleries, eateries, bars and inns, the Plaza is an absolute “must-see” for any Taos-bound traveler.
